Well after a month of looking at four different makes of tractors I have now decided on a JD4310. I ordered a JD4310 4wd ehydro folding rops R4 with a 420 loader. The final price was 18,000.00 before tax. Dealer said they will have it ready on Feb 5th. I am saving 150.00 buy installing the loader my self, is that a good thing? Well gotta go and start cleaning out the garage, so it wont be out in the weather, you know i have never parked my truck in the garage. Thanks for every ones help over the past few weeks.

Congrats,I'm sure you will love it.Don't hurt yourself
with the quick hydralics compared to the ole TO20,I put
alot of hours on a TO20 when I was a pup,good tractor but
the hydralics would put you to sleep waiting on it.
Just curious how much cheaper was the 420 over the 430
loader? ....

You won't regret your decision. We have the same units except mine has 430 FEL. This tractor seems to be the best bang for the buck. I spent a bunch of time researching every brand for which there was a dealer within 50 miles. You also won't regret spending the extra money for the ehydro. If you buy a rotary mower, get one with a slipper clutch. Its an extra 80-120 bucks but will save you time and money in the years to come.
Look closely at other units on the lot to see how the bracketry for the FEL goes on. My dealer didn't offer me a savings on the installation, just a flat price which was cheaper than the competitors.

Ccongradulations on your new tractor,I just got my 4310 this winter so haven't had a chance to use it yet. We have identical units except mine is the 12/12 trans. Ive got a 4300 w/ 430 loader and 48 back hoe, 12/12 trans. My loader is the 430, and it's been so handy that I've never had it off. I've saw new loaders on the shipping pallet, and I think there pretty much complete except for puting the brackets on the tractor. We've got a real good dealer close by, so what few problems I had with the 4300 were taken care of promtly. Enjoy your new tractor. ....

Sure you can put your own loader on. It is fairly straight forward. The most important step in my experience is to make sure the bolts holding the front latch plate are loose the first time you put the loader on. Once the loader is on, tighten them up and the loader is matched to your tractor. If you have never put this type of loader on before, it may take a few tries to get the hang of using the hydraulics to move it into place, but once you have it down, it is really slick. If get stuck, call for help. There is a lot of knowledge here. ....

My old tractor is a to30, so it will take me a little while to get framilar with the new technology, but i am very ready. The 420 loader was about 750.00 cheaper than the 430. thanks ....

In the bit of loader disassembly I've done, I found that a lower-link pin makes a good drift for lining up the pinholes--at least with my loader. The square ended pins on the loader don't allow for much misalignment. The link pins have enough bevel on the ends so they'll start and pull the parts into alignment. Then the loader pins can be banged in from the other side. I tend to use bottle jacks for making small alignment adjustments--got to be careful the jacks don't slip though.
Good luck with the garage. My ROPS was about 2" too tall. I ended up with an arctic shelter tent as temporary shelter for the tractor--a temporary solution that still exists 4 years later.
If you're using tractor hydraulics to align parts, and not everything is connected, you should be aware that loader cylinders are connected in pairs. The one with the lightest load moves first. That usually would be the one that's not connected and the one that has to be aligned, but the one you want may not always be the one that moves.

Well I got the tractor yesterday and had the loader on by last night. That was the best 150.00 I have saved in a long time. the loader went on very easely.
Well its wet and cold here so i am waiting on the weather to get right befor i can put her to the test. ....
